Gloria Barker

Gloria Jean Barker, age 67, passed away peacefully July 14th 2019 at her home in Burlington, NC surrounded by the love of her family. Gloria was born on May 3rd 1952 in Elkhart, Indiana, she is predeceased by her mother Phyllis M Wagner and her late husband Jerry W Barker SR.

Gloria was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She gave selflessly and was a mother figure to so many others. She especially loved her role as Grandma/ Granny. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went and her heart was as pure as gold. Gloria was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.

Gloria is survived by four children: Stacy Braid and her husband Larry Braid, of Lagrange, Indiana: Jerry W Barker II and his fiancé Rebecca Jones, of Mebane, NC; Douglas Barker and his wife Kayla Barker, of Snow Camp, NC & a man she loved as her son William Pollard of Wilson Mills, NC. Gloria is also survived by her sister Carolyn Craigo and her husband Lawrence Craigo, of Clayton, NC & her brother Mark Wagner and his wife Karen Wagner of Middlebury, Indiana. She was an outstanding grandmother to 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

The family plans to have a private ceremony in remembrance of Gloria Barker that will be announced at a later date.
