Francis "Frank" Gilbert Weir

Francis G.Weir,75, beloved husband of 54 years to Barbara (Swiconek) Weir left this world for a place with God  on    August 31ST, 2018   . Francis & Barbara were long time residents of East Glastonbury, CT.  before retiring to North Carolina. Born in Hartford, CT . in May of 1943.  The son of DR. Dwight E. Weir and Frances (Way) Weir .  A loving father who is survived by two children and one Grandson . Francis Jr. and wife R .Heather ,  Tina M.and husband Todd and Dylan his Grandson.   His brother Dwight Weir & wife Doris of New Jersey along with nephews and nieces as well as the  Weir extended family.   A Sister -in-Law Nora Mann , niece Charlene and Nephew Lance.   He was predeceased by two brothers Lee and Leverett.  Frank was a long time Volunteer for the Glastonbury Fire Dept. serving at Co. #3.   Loved to play cards and ran the Set-Back club at Co #3 for many years.  Was a Sportsman enjoying fishing, hunting with family and friends as well as helping a friend with his Pheasant Farm.  In the late 80's he began Camping all over the Northeast as well as some Southern states.    A special thank you to the care givers at Hospice House for his final care especially Debra who will hold a special place in my heart.  In Lieu fo flowers contributions may be  sent to Hospice Care Center,  8642 W. Market Street, Burlington, NC  27409-9443  . A Memorial Service will be held 9/8/2018 at the Swepsonville United Methodist Church.  1307 E. Main Street, Graham, NC. 27253., at 11:00 am.    Condolences c/o Swepsonville United Methodist Church.
