David Andrew Hunt, 79 of Chapel Hill, NC passed away Sunday September 3, 2017 at Alamance Health Center in Burlington, NC

David Andrew Hunt was born in Chatham County, NC on March 3, 1938 the son of David Pride and Edith Oakley Hunt . He was self-employed as a painter for many years.  He was married for 42 years to Elwyn Eugenia “Genie” Ferebee Hunt before her passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wife: Elwyn “Genie” Hunt , Grandson: Donald Wayne Hunt, Sisters: Betty, Mary and Lois

Surviving are sons: David Andrew Hunt Jr. (Lenora) of Kingwood, TX , John Travis Hunt of Chapel Hill, NC, Robert Edward Hunt (Sheila) of Raleigh, NC, Archie Wayne Hunt (Rhiannon) of Durham, NC. Daughter: Jamie Hunt Peters of Pittsboro, NC .  Grandchildren:  Ted Hunt (Emily) of New Caney, TX, John, Shaun & Lauren Hunt of Porter, TX, Robby Rook of Pittsboro, NC, Kayla McMillan (Matt) of Garner, NC, Alaina Garner of Raleigh, NC, Austin Hunt of Raleigh, NC, Henry Hunt of Durham, NC.  Seven Great Grandchildren.   Siblings: Pearl Williams of Siler City, NC, Bob Hunt of California, Daisy Mae Hatley of Pittsboro, NC, Janie Hunt of Raleigh, NC.    

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11am on September 15th at Merritts Chapel Methodist Church, 1090 Farrington Point Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27517 with Rev. David Andrew Hunt Jr. officiating.
