Michael Joseph Fischer, 51, 3125 Appling Way, Durham NC; Wednesday, March 20 at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital.

Michael was born and raised in Pine Beach, NJ on December 30, 1972, the son of Charles Fischer and his loving stepmother, Ruth. Michael was a mechanic by trade, but taught himself how to do upholstery work, mainly for boats and cars. Michael was a “car guy” and was in the process of rebuilding a 1973 Plymouth Duster that he enjoyed working on with his sons. He loved spending time outdoors hiking and camping, considered himself quite the chef, always trying and mastering new recipes in the kitchen, and most enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jill Marie Fischer of 3125 Appling Way, Durham NC. Children: Rayce (18) and Riley (9), and his parents, Charles and Ruth Fischer

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 pm on April 6 at 3125 Appling Way, Durham. Friends and family are welcome.
