Terry Scott, 62, a United States Marine Corps veteran of Burlington passed away on Saturday January 27, 2018 at home.
Terry was born in Alamance County on May 4, 1955 the son of James Scott, Sr. and Adell Horner Scott and was raised by Vance Scott and Katie Scott. Terry fought a valiant fight with ALS and was a member of Cornerstone Community Church. He was a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran and worked in produce for Food Lion and Walmart. He also owned and operated Tarheel Karaoke. Terry was a loving husband, father and paw paw who never met a stranger and enjoyed cutting up and laughing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Debbie Sweat, Laura Horner and Fern Smith as well as a brother Lester Scott. On September 30, 2004 he married the former Susan Barts who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife Susan Scott of the home are six children, Terry Scott, Jr. (Crystal), Crystal Rich (Bryan), Bryan Scott (Karen), William Hunt (Jennie), Ronald Hunt, Jr. (Lindsay) and Amanda Waddell; two sisters, Katie Novela Garmon and Carolyn Minor (Ronnie); three brothers, James Scott (Diane), Wesley Scott and Eugene Scott (Terri); and 12 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 am on Friday at Cornerstone Community Church. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Moore's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 am until the time for the service at the church and all other times at the home. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to hospice workers Rosa, Jill and Erika as well as Terry's nurse Leslie.
