Mebane,

Ronald Richard Whitfield, 70 of Mebane passed away at home on Tuesday March 14, 2017. 

Ronald was born in Alamance County on January 31, 1947 the son of the late Jesse Whitfield and Lessie Carden Whitfield. He was employed as a fixer at Efland Hosiery Mill and was a loving father, grandfather and brother. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Lewis Whitfield. 

Surviving are four children, Kay Kirby, Wendy Williams, Ronald Whitfield, Jr. and Richie Whitfield; seven grandchildren, David Barnwell, Christian Flynn, Alia Barnwell, Angel Whitfield, Alexis Whitfield, Erin O'Hara and Jalen Stevens; five sisters, Nancy Byrd, Ruth Norris, Florence Cecil, Patricia Littlejohn and Sarah Whitfield and five brothers, Tommy Whitfield, Johnny Whitfield, Joe Whitfield, Dwight Whitfield and Cecil Whitfield. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 7 pm on Friday March 17, 2017 at Omega Funeral Service & Crematory Chapel.
