Roger Wayne Jones Sr. of Haw River N.C. passed away on February 20th 2018 at 5:00 pm at the Hospice Care facility of Burlington N.C.

Roger was born in Haw River N.C. on 1/11/1939 to Henry and Evelyn Jones...both deceased. He was a truck driver at Overnite Transportation for many years. He also worked at the YMCA of Burlington where he drove the bus and also ran the duckpin bowling alley. He also worked as the maintenance engineer at Hampton Inn. In later years he started driving for many different car dealerships where he would deliver cars to and from other dealerships as well as to and from car auctions. it was during this time that he met and developed a lot of great friendships with others.  

Surviving are wife Shirley Everett Jones of the home; a son Roger Wayne Jones Jr. and wife Shelby Tammy Jones of Graham. Grandchildren Jennifer Dawn Ufret of Graham and Roger Wayne Jones III of Graham. Great granddaughters Summer Nicole Sabot of Graham, Shelby Brook Chasity Wagstaff of Graham, and Destiny Ufret of graham. and 1 great granddaughter Layla Wagstaff Philips . stepson Forest Berry of Morehead City N.C. ; Sister Sylvan Craddock of Madison N.C., and brother Bobby Jones of Haw River N.C. Roger was preceded in death by his brother Jerry Jones and a son Jimmy Jones.  

A Celebration of Rogers life will be on March 9th 2018 at The Lambs Chapel...at the Haw River N.C. location in the fellowship hall. The celebration of Rogers life will be will be presented by Pastor Walter Jones who is also Rogers cousin and lifelong friend. The family will receive friends starting at 6 pm and the service will start at approximately 7:15. This celebration is scheduled for 6pm-8pm.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell.
