Mebane,
Rev. Willard T. Florence, 81 of Mebane passed away on Thursday November 3, 2016 at ARMC. 

Rev. Florence was born in Alamance County on January 13, 1935 the son of John and Effie Boswell Florence. He was an ordained minister serving the community as pastor of Maranatha Baptist Church in Burlington and was retired from Craftique after 40 years of employment and his nickname was "Preacher Man". He and his wife Essie were members of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Mebane. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. 

Surviving are his wife, Essie West Florence of the home; two daughters, Frances Vaughan and Diane Sorrell; four sons, Sam Florence, Johnny Williams, Tommy Williams and Larry Williams; a sister Frances Terrell; two brothers, Rev. Aubrey Florence and Robert Florence; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday at Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane. Full military honors will follow the service. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 Tuesday prior to the service at Omega Funeral Service & Crematory. Memorials may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church.
