Mary Porter Wilkinson, 98 of Burlington passed away on Monday August 28, 2017 at Danville Regional Medical Center.

Mary was born in Orange County on February 7, 1919 the daughter of the late Sydney Porter and Marvin Campbell Porter. She worked in the textile industry as a knitter and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great-grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Lemeul Wilkinson and a son Leon Wilkinson.

Surviving are two sons, Stephen “Steve” Wilkinson and wife Phalba of Burlington and Norman Wilkinson (late Brenda of Elon; three daughters, Linda Bulla, Wanda Jones and husband Tim and June Carol Braxton all of Burlington; a brother Roy Porter and wife Barbara of Haw River;  twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 pm on Friday at Omega Funeral Service & Crematory Chapel with Rev. Bobby Fann officiating.
