Lois Ann Matthews Battley, 65 of Burlington passed away on Wednesday July 27, 2016 at Rose Manor in Durham.  

Lois was born in Burlington on May 5, 1951 the daughter of the late William H. Matthews and Thelma Stout Matthews. She received an associates degree in accounting from Elon College. She was a US Navy Veteran and worked at UNC Chapel Hill as an accountant. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Battley. 

Surviving are her sister, Mary Jeffries and husband Walter of Graham; two brothers, Dennis Matthews of Burlington and James Mendez of Gibsonville; a niece, Heather Wheeler and husband Ashton of Chesapeake, VA and two great nieces, Abigail and Natalie Wheeler both of Chesapeake, VA,  

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 PM on  Monday at Omega Funeral Service Chapel. Military honors will follow.  The family will receive friends following the service. Sign an online register book at www.omegafsc.com.  Arrangements are in the care of Omega Funeral Service & Crematory.
