BURLINGTON

Johnnie Milton (J.M.) Clemmons Jr., 76, of Burlington, passed away October 23, 2016 at his residence.

J.M. was born January 06, 1940 in Alamance County to the late Johnnie and Wilmer Clemmons. He was involved in farming for many years and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and racing. He drove and worked on race cars for many years and enjoyed watching it on television later in life.

He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony J. Clemmons, his daughter Ginger Henry, brother Homer “Peanut” Clemmons, sister Ann Jones and sister Helen Hardy.

J.M. is survived by his wife, Robin, sons Cody Clemmons of Burlington and Josh Hall (Faith) of Burlington, 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and sisters Betty Pritchett (Tommy) of Elon and Joy McCaskill (Bill) of Burlington.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM October 29, 2016 at Staley Memorial Baptist Church located at 1446 N. Graham Hopedale Rd. Burlington, NC 27217. The family will receive friends for visitation following the service.
