BURLINGTON

James “Clay” Dixon, 54, of Burlington passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 23, 2017.

An Alamance County native, Clay is the son of Eddie Dixon and Glenda Edwards.  He is well respected in the construction industry as a self-employed sheetrock contractor.

Surviving Clay, in addition to his parents, are his wife Angela Murray Dixon of Burlington; sons James and Robert Dixon of Pennsylvania and James Dixon, II of Burlington; daughters Misty Abercrombie (Nate) of Burlington and Brandy Dixon (fiancé Josh Hyatt) of Burlington; step-daughter Kellie Royal of Hawaii; brother Jay Dixon of Burlington; sister Crystal Hopkins of Burlington; half-brother Shane Dixon; 13 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren.  Preceding Clay in death were his daughter Christy Dixon, brother Eddie Dixon, Jr., and grand-daughter Nevaeh Dixon.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Omega Funeral Service & Crematory.  The burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery, Graham, NC.  Visitation with the family is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
