Harold "Buck" James 86 of Burlington passed away Saturday April 30 2016 at Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance Caswell.   

Buck was born in Graham on September 24, 1929 the son of Bulah James. He retired from the textile industry and operated a local thrift store for many years. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran who served our country with pride. He favorite pastime was repairing watches and going to auctions. Buck was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Mary Jane James. 

Surviving are two sons, Roland James of Paducah, KY and Harold James of Graham; two daughters, Dianne Lloyd and husband Allen of Mebane and Donna Gillespie and husband Albert of Graham; 8 grandchidren; 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday at Omega Funeral Service and Crematory Chapel with Pastor Christie Dye and Pastor David Hopkins officiating.  Military Honors will follow the service at the funeral home.  The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home as well as after the service at the home, 2245 Swepsonville Road, Graham. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell.  Sign an online register book at www.omegafsc.com.
