Gordon F. Beardsley, age 81, died peacefully in his sleep January 3, 2017, after 4 years of declining health.

Gordon was born June 28, 1935, in Arena NY, the son of the late Leon (Tom) Beardsley, and Lena Kittle Beardsley. He was predeceased by his infant son Larry, sisters and brothers in law Gloria (Walter) Douglas, Nina (Paul) Johnson, and Marcia (Wolfgang) Hutzel; brother Otis Beardsley, and brother and sister in law Daniel (Anne) Beardsley.  He was also predeceased by a special sister in law, Frances Smith, a special niece, Linda Gerheart, and his beloved dog Princess.

He is survived by his children, Kathi Wimmer (Karen Poole), Mindy Beardsley, Darrin Beardsley; 4 grandchildren, Kevin (Angie) Hicks, Brian (Ansley) Hicks, Blaine Beardsley, Serra Beardsley; 4 great-grandchildren, Kevin Hicks, Aidan Hicks, Caleb Hicks, Matthew Hicks. He is also survived by a special brother in law, Ronny Sanford, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, his close friends Randy and Sharon Rought, and Jessie Rought, and many hunting buddies and friends.

Gordon spent over 30 years as a heavy equipment operator.  He was a true mountain man who built his log cabin, and loved to hunt and fish. He was a gunsmith, gun collector, and a proud lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He loved to spend time with his friends and family.
