Edward Paul Flowers of Carrboro NC passed away peacefully on October 6, 2017.  He was born in Knightdale, NC to Elijah Daniel and Maggie Jackson Flowers.  On Christmas Day in 1948, he wed Nancy Ellen Harrison; the marriage lasted for a joyous 67 years until her death in 2015.

Over his lifetime Paul held various sales positions which led to a successful managerial career.  He was an active church member, having served as both a deacon and choir member.  Paul deeply loved his family, enjoyed all kinds of music, was always helping others and was an avid traveler.  He always had a good time, making friends wherever he went.

He leaves behind daughters Lynn Flowers and husband Michael Patrick and Gail Edwards and husband Lloyd, four adoring grandchildren: Rachel and Seth Edwards and Alice and Daniel Turner and great grandchildren Ty and Zadie Edwards.  All who knew this sweet and charming father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend will greatly miss his loving kindness and his ready smiles.

 A Celebration of his life will be held on November 5, 2017 at 3:00 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Pittsboro, NC.   In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Paul’s honor to the Helping Hand Mission in Raleigh,  a charity he had long-supported.
