Mebane,

David Brown (Dave), 69 of Mebane, NC, a US Army Vietnam Veteran,  peacefully went home to be with his Lord & Savior, at the VA Hospital, Durham, on Dec. 28, 2017.  
 

Born in Haverhill, NH 11/14/48, David grew up in Barre, VT, a graduate of SHS, class of ’66. An Army Veteran of Vietnam, he also gave 27 years service to UniFirst Corp. David held memberships to VFW & American Legion. As a mentor of Wings to Recovery at ARMC Cancer Center, David spent 10 years offering hope & encouragement to cancer patients.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Philip & Kathleen & his sister Sharleen.  He is survived by; wife of 48 years, Diane & their fur-baby Mollie, daughter Charlene & husband Jay Snead, their daughters Rebecca and Kathleen of Knoxville, TN, son Charles & wife Missy, their girls Jenna and Erin of Fayetteville GA, granddaughter Macy & husband Xavier Cook of FT Richardson, AK.  David leaves behind his brothers; Harry Brown, & wife Bev of S.Barre, VT, Dale Brown of Cabot, VT, and 3 sisters; Bonnie & her husband Wendell Emmons of Easley, SC, Denise (Sue) & husband Steve Sparrow of Adamat, VT, and Brenda Brown of Groton, VT, along with many nieces & nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 am on Saturday January 6, 2018 at Crosslink Community Church, Mebane, NC with Military Honors immediately following the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Randolph Center, VT. 
In lieu of flowers the family gratefully asks that memorials be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215  or to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301
