Brenda Pack Brooks, 53, of Graham, peacefully passed away on February 23, 2018 following her courageous battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held at Mount Hermon United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 3rd at 3:00pm with Pastor Jimmy Wooten and Pastor Mollie White officiating.   Immediately following the memorial service, the family will host a celebration of life cover-dish dinner at 1728 S. Main Street, Graham, NC 27253.  A member of the family will be present at the address to receive covered dishes from 11:00am to 5:00pm on March 3rd.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Luther Asbury Pack.

Brenda is survived by her husband Charles “Chase” Brooks of Graham, NC; daughter Brandy (Chris) Chieco of Durham, NC; grandson Rocco Chieco of Durham, NC; mother Carol (Curtis) Glenn of Columbia, SC; brothers Elliott James of Atlanta, GA and Freddie (Candy) Pack of Lansdale, PA; sister Sherry (James) Elkins of Moncks Corner, SC; parents-in-law Jerry (Lucille) Brooks; and brother-in-law Michael “Mike” Brooks.

Brenda was born in Sumter, SC on August 26, 1964.  She relocated with her daughter, Brandy, to Graham, NC after meeting the love of her life, her husband, Chase.  She helped build and operate the family’s garden center for over 20 years.  Brenda enjoyed beach vacations, reading, and was an avid movie-goer.  She delighted in listening and dancing to music, laughing with friends and family, and cuddling with her fur-babies, Abby and Casper.  Her pride and joy was her grandson, Rocco, and she treasured every moment spent with him since his birth in September 2015.  Brenda was the anchor and guiding light of her family, and words cannot express how deeply she will be missed.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the doctors and staff at the Duke Cancer Institute for their care and guidance, the Alamance-Caswell Hospice and Palliative Care Center for their support, and to friends and family for their love and encouragement throughout Brenda’s battle.  The family sends a very special thanks to Lynn Bailey, Theresa Williamson, and Mike Brooks for their tireless dedication to Brenda’s comfort and care in her final days.
